PMOS exists to serve its members and its community, both in education and camaraderie. We want the best education so we can become the best doctors and further our chosen profession, optometry. We are lucky to partner with Pacific University College of Optometry to provide opportunities for the most current education about optometric conditions and treatments. Local and national experts often share their knowledge as well. Lectures are hosted monthly from September through April. Upcoming events, lectures and locations are listed on the Events page.
Anyone who is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) www.aoa.org and a member of our state organization, the Oregon Optometric Physicians Associations (OOPA) www.oregonoptometry.org, is automatically a member of the Portland Metropolitan Optometric Society (PMOS) by geographic location.
Members are encouraged to become dues paying members. Dues are set at only $50 per year and can be paid through OOPA with your other association dues. A dues paying PMOS member may attend any and all optometric educational and social events for free (or a reduced) charge, subject to availability. This is a great value. Please register for these events ahead of time so we may reserve a spot for you.
